Now this is a look!
Our musician with a guitar strapped across his back is donning a military-inspired blue jacket with brass buttons. It's actually a cool look... if you're in a band. White pants with a decorative belt. An interesting mix, Bob Marley meets Napoleon in 2010 New York!
He's so expressive due to a guy in a clown-suit (kid you not) walking across our paths. As I'm clicking frames he yells to the clown, "I'm getting more attention than you are man!". That he is.

A Little Different
It's the weekend, everyone's relaxing and I thought I would share some entertaining and interesting shots I've run across. Hope you enjoy!
I'm pretty sure this wasn't one of her finest moments. When Cary Grant said "It takes 500 small details to make a favorable impression", I wonder if this was one that crossed his mind.
All was not lost, this was nice. Love the contrast.
Since we're on the subject of shoes... pedicures are a nice touch.

A Little Different
In New York, you come across some looks that are a bit different than you'll find anywhere else. From the beginning I've always had a policy of not saying anything negative or derogatory about anyone I shoot. Some will find the looks to be cool, others just odd. The common denominator is that it's a style, a personal style unique to themselves. I find that having a personal style, even to an extreme, is better than not trying (jeans, t-shirts and general sloppiness doesn't count as a "style" for these purposes). That said, I've decided to start a new category when I find those looks that make you do a double-take for their outlandishness. We'll simply call it "A Little Different".

Man on the Street
Perhaps the pattern won't become permanent fashion, but you have to give Ricardo credit- he's wearing it with his own brand of style. On the way back from a party, it took confidence to pull this off and he had in spades. This Jill Sander suit is meant for getting attention, and that it does. Perfectly fitted and tailored, coupled with confidence- he owns it. The attitude is what made the difference between being a big hit or a big miss. Next time you reach for that accessory that may be a bit out of your comfort zone, remember- it's not necessarily what you're wearing, but how you wear it.

These days... anything goes.
Not the typical head-ware but given the sartorial sewer we are often surrounded by today of anything goes, well at least this gent does it with some pizazz. The feline obviously took a little training to become accustomed to being the latest accessory but does so quite willingly, jumping from the ground, to the gent's hip and finally arriving on his perch where he seems quite content to have the best view of Broadway.
